Pope desires 'new wave of faith'

Pope Benedict XVI
The trip to Cologne will be the first one abroad for Benedict XVI
Pope Benedict XVI has said he hopes his forthcoming trip to his homeland Germany will give "new impulse" to the Roman Catholic Church in Europe.

He said the idea that Christianity is a burden with its many rules and prohibitions was a misconception.

Yes, Christianity is a BURDEN and not a pleasure. The practice of faith has turned from the search for God to the accumulation of indulgences, wealth and pride and judgement. Faith, God and Love are more important than the keeping of rules, the tallying of tabs, and OBEDIENCE to a man who runs a church with an iron fist, who excludes, is intolerant and does not see what needs to be done, rather keeps the church where it has always been, in a heaping mess of scandal and lowering attendance.

I'd rather follow the God of my understanding in the field, rather than pay homage to man, inside his building, praying to Man's concept of what God is, instead of following the God of our fathers!

He will take part in World Youth Day, a Catholic festival that draws large numbers of young people. Up to 800,000 are expected at a Mass next Sunday.

The visit is the 78-year-old pontiff's first abroad since his election.

Coincidental choice

In an interview with Vatican Radio ahead of the trip, the Pope said there was a widespread idea that "Christianity is composed of laws and bans which one has to keep".

" These laws and bans are kept under the rule of guilt and carries with them the possibility of eternal rest in the fires of hell or far worse "EXCOMMUNICATION" for breaking them. "

He said this was often seen as "something toilsome and cumbersome".

"I want to make clear that it is not a burden to be carried with great love and realisation, but it is like having wings," he added.

These "wings" he talks about are only for those who fit "inside" the box of conformity and the silence of a repressive, patriarchal, mysoginistic, homophobic institution.

"It is wonderful to be a Christian with this knowledge that it gives us a great breadth, a large community."

"The Community could be SO MUCH BIGGER if the doors were open to the myraid of souls the church finds unacceptible, abominable and non-conforming to their rules and regulations."

Asked what the ideal aim of the festival in Cologne was, Benedict answered that ideally, it would spark "a wave of new faith among young people, especially the youth in Germany and Europe".

World Youth Day is a large jamboree that takes place at different locations every few years.

Cologne was chosen to host the event years before the German-born Pope was elected.

IF THE HOLY FATHER WANTS A "NEW WAVE OF FAITH" THEN HE MUST MAKE CERTAIN CHANGES TO HIS IRON HANDED TREATMENT OF PEOPLE AND LIVES.

1. HE MUST CHANGE THE WAYS THE CHURCH TREATS THE SINS OF THE "FATHERS"
2. THE CHURCH MUST OPEN THE DOOR -" WIDE OPEN" - TO WOMEN IN MINISTRY
3. HE MUST RECANT HIS STANCE ON THE (LGBT) COMMUNITY
4. THE COFFERS OF THE VATICAN MUST BE USED TO FEED THE HUNGRY AND CLOTHE THE POOR
5. THE HOLY FATHER MUST TAKE A SERIOUS STANCE IN CONDEMNING WAR AND DO SOMETHING TO SERIOUSLY BRING AN END TO STRIFE AND KILLING
6. THE CHRISTIAN "WEST" MUST GET OUT OF THE MIDDLE EAST AND LET THEM HAVE THEIR LIVES AND THEIR RELIGION, THE CHURCH DOES NOT HAVE TO CONQUER THE ENTIRE EARTH FOR CHRISTIANITY
7. THE CHURCH MUST OPEN THE DOORS TO SANCTIFIED MARRIAGES FOR ANYONE WHO WISHES TO BE MARRIED IN THE CHURCH. (I.E. THE CHURCH MUST SUPPORT GAY MARRIAGES)
8. THE CHURCH MUST APOLOGIZE FOR THEIR MISTREATMENT OF THOSE WHO HAVE LEFT THE CHURCH BECAUSE OF THEIR IRON HANDED RULES, LAWS AND EXCLUSIONS
9. THE CHURCH MUST MOVE IN THE DIRECTION OF "INCLUSION, ACCEPTANCE AND TOLERANCE!
10. THE CHURCH NEEDS TO CHANGE ITS THINKING ON MANY "SOCIAL" ISSUES THAT NEED TO BE RESOLVED
11. THE CHURCH MUST START MINISTERING IN THE WAYS OF GOD AND NOT THE WAYS OF MAN
AND 12
THERE ARE ALWAYS 12
12. WE MUST "COME TO BELIEVE" IN SOMETHING FAR GREATER THAN THE RICH CHURCH WITH RULES, REGULATIONS AND WEALTH, AND BRING SOME STABILITY AND PEACE TO THE EARTH'S POOREST NATIONS.
