Chicken Soup !! Tasty food !!

I have slaved over a hot stove all afternoon, cooking a fresh from scratch chicken and dumplings. HOW YUMMMYY !!!

1 - full chicken
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
2 bay leaves
( I add my favorite roasting chicken spices ) (optional)
( I also add 3 tbsp of chicken broth powder) (optional)

You can add spice and flavor as you see fit, to "heat" up the mix if you so wish.

Boil chicken for 1 1/2 hour to 2 hours. debone chicken after cooling, add back to broth, strained for bones and pieces. Add your favorite veggies ( potatos, carrots, stringbeans, celery ) or whatever you like in soup. cook until tender.

3 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1 tbsp shortening
2 eggs
1 cup milk

Sift dry ingredients - add shortening, wisk eggs and milk, add to mix, now you will have to knead the dough for a few minutes to incorporate all the flour and (milk/eggs) mix. first with a spoon, but using your hands works better. Add dumplings to soup and boil 25 - 30 minutes.
